Privacy notice
International Solo DanceSport is the responsible party for the personal information on this website. This notice explains what we collect about dancers (most of whom are children) and their parents, and why, as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Parent or guardian: name, email, mobile number, and payment records (card details are handled by PayFast and never reach us).
- Dancers: name, birth date, gender, school, studio, teacher, province, emergency contact and dance levels.
Why
To register dancers as members, place them in the right age and level sections, run competitions, camps and workshops, publish results and colours, and contact you about events you entered.
Who sees it
The International Solo DanceSport office, adjudicators and organisers of the events you enter, and the teacher of the studio or school you choose for a dancer. Published results show a dancer’s name, studio or school and placing only. We do not sell or share information for marketing.
Consent and your rights
A parent or guardian gives consent when creating an account. You can view and correct your dancers’ details at any time under My dancers, and remove a dancer there. Removing a dancer erases their details; names in already-published results remain.
How long we keep it
Membership and entry records are kept for five years for colours and level history, then deleted or anonymised. Payment records are kept as tax law requires.
